I can't find a copy of FWTBT but found this description of Maria's
thoughts in a synopsis. She also experiences red, but it is from the sun.
"For her everything was red, orange, gold-red from the sun on the closed
eyes, and it all was that color, all of it, the filling, the possessing,
the having, all of that color, all in a blindness of that color."
Robert and Maria were trapped in the war just as were Roger and Jessica.
They also would like to have said "Fuck the War" but you we're allowed
to say that back then.
