when erasing my unerased emails, i saw a heading before it dispappeared
into the maelstrom re a thread we had on PATTERN RECOGNITiON in 
The Recognitions....
 
I don't remember it much and I hope this, just learned, was not already posted
so that I bore more than the norm bore I chore you with...........
 
From McLuhan's Understanding Media which we KNOW TRP read and which influence
from just tthe beginning of my reading is rife.....[Byron's conception is surely RIGHT HERE..to follow]
 
Anyway, McLuhan says in the age of information overload in which we are--have been---living
our necessary cultural response is NOT fragmentation (that was the age of mechanization) 
but inevitably, for survival, practicing Pattern Recognition amongst the flow "just like the Poe
character in "The Maelstrom"..................................
