V2, Chap 15 (Sahha), I, p 462 - "...januning"

Textual slop:

    All of a sudden there was noise in the hallway.  Somebody began
banging on the door.  "Police, " a voice said.
    Stencil, januning [sic] the teeth into one pocket, dashed away
for the fire escape.

On p. 462 of my Harper Perennial Modern Classics (2005) the text has
"januning" (no such word) for "jamming."  This is the third Harper
Perennial edition - I'm at a loss to say how many editions and page
proofs the book has gone through since the original J.B. Lippincott
hardcover in 1961; nevertheless, no one associated with the text
(including, apparently, the author) has cared enough to clean up
obvious typographical errors.  Annoying.

Consider the passage on this sames page that I commented on previously:

  "'No," but weak.
  "Why?" he said. "Malta never showed me anything [...]"

As I read these lines there should be no paragraph break after "weak,"
since "Why?" is still Benny talking.  This looks like editorially
inserted erratum to me.  Carelessness of this sort makes the book
needlessly harder to read, and is disrespectful of both the text and
the reader.
