Why is Iago Saperstein named Iago?....

More common than I've ever heard or do we inevitably think
of the most famous Iago----the one full of 'motiveless malignity'
against Othello who plants the seeds of his tragic end?

What kind of associations, if any, are there? I've recently reread
Othello and I'm at a loss.....
