GR translation: the long rain in silicon and freezing descent

Maybe not your everyday English, yes.  It may be unusual, and it may have broken a few rules here and there, but it's still undeniably English.  Nobody would mistaken it for a bad translation from German, or Chinese.  Well, nobody who can read, anyway.

A literal translation of the sentence here would sound awkward and contrived in Chinese (not to mention meaningless), which is not the desired effect of the original at all.  The original is almost poetic.  I can't say the same for my translation, but I want it to at least make sense.
