TRP Misc....on They and Byron?

In a 1970 book about the sixties sensibility---OK,OK, it is
The Greening of America, y'all remember that one?----I learn
two things. 
 
1) Heidegger, yes that Heidegger, used "They". 
 
----driven"by the nameless authority which says it must be done this way, 
the authority of what heidegger called "the they".......................
 
2) McLuhan, some of whom we know TRP read [cites him] said that
the lightbulb has no content....
"McLuhan answer is that a medium itself tends to be overlooked because
it has no content. A light bulb he says has no content."           p.153
