Visually, the characters are dominated by hands, eyes, faces, and
foreheads. Limbs, torsos, trunks, feet.....much less emphasized. Hands
get the most. There are over 100 appearances of 'hand' in this
chapter, plus several mentions of fingers and palms. Most of the
references are to human connection or the avoidance thereof. Others to
openness or hiding. A few to artistic expression. Wyatt's offense at
the palm reading is a centerpiece. He wants internal and external
privacy. Some knotting of string. Yolk juggling. Turning lights off
and on.
