Subject: Re: Chomsky's etc
Not once have I attempted to tarnish the character of Chomsky. Nor
have I said anything negative about those who may seem to "agree" with
him. On the contrary, I've mentioned a handful of intellects, both
liberal and conservative, who have spent years contemplating and
presenting reason in print that Chomsky obviously hasn't read or taken
into consideration when siding with a national enemy. It may appear
that I'm making ad hominem attacks, but this is not the case.
Sincerely, I believe that anyone who has a position of power should be
held responsible for his or her comments. A public celebrity like
Chomsky, must touch all bases when he rhetorically sides with
international law that favors Osama Bin Laden over Obama or Bush. 8
or 9 years ago on a C-Span Booktv call-in-show Cornel West mentioned
that Americans mistake "visibility and celebrity-status for truth", I
agree and plan on holding both Chomsky and West to it.
"If you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao, you ain't gonna make it
with anyone any how."
I refuse to let ideology, both left and right, turn me against my
homeland. Without a sense of homeland, international law and values
can't exist.
"As long as we presuppose matter, that is, assume that it precedes our
cognizance, it is not even possible to fully understand what we are
talking about. Rather than groping blindly among incomprehensible
concepts, instead let us ask what we understand and can understand
originally. Originarily we only understand ourselves and because
their are only two conclusions, one that makes matter the principle of
spirit and the other that makes spirit the principle of matter, for
those of us seeking to understand ourselves, there remains only one
assertion: not that the spirit arises from matter but that matter
arises from spirit."- F.W.J. Schelling from "Explicatory Essays of the
Idealism in the Science of Knowledge"1797-1797
