James Hillman, a therapist and bestselling author (The Soul's Code) "whose theories about the psyche helped revive interest in the ideas of Carl Jung, animating the so-called men's movement in the 1990s and stirring the pop-cultural air," died yesterday, the New York Times reported. He was 85.
 
I still wonder if they knew each other when Hillman and Pynchon both lived in California. There is some suppositional  "evidence" that a few key Hillman ideas are in the fiction, particularly AtD. [see these archives] Even wonder if Pynchon 'went' to him?...a supposed early ex-girlfriend is supposed to have said 
"He had a lot of hang-ups".........
