Pynchon like Shakespeare in at least one way?

A guy named John Danby has written this about Shakespeare's late Romances:
 
"Shakespeare during the last period is comparatively relaxed. He makes a toy of thought."
 
Now, who dare say that is NOT the Pynchon of Against the Day? 
 
I LOVE 'toy of thought"........
