TRTR...still wracking around the edifice

Again, Tony Tanner, famous early appreciator of The Recognitions--his words on TR are the whole back cover
of J.R. the first hardcover edition,--- in his prefaces to Shakespeare sez:
 
"the Greek words for reader and recognition are close: 'anagnostes' and 'anagnorisis'............
 
He speaks of the special importance of 'recognition' in the [late] Romances but then goes on to say he
has to talk about its more general centrality for literature....and cites a book on just that: "Terence Cave's 
fine book, Recognitions" (!)......
