NP: find the hidden Pynchon reference in this comic

I can't see the penis for the life of me  (not saying it's not there),    but that sign - which I certainly considered -  says "Read."  Look carefully at the size of the curve in the R - it's smaller than the curve of the D and the leg of the R is starting to show.   That's a very common sign in classrooms.
