Elmore Leonard? Get Real!

Even the greatest writers of mysteries---Chandler, Leonard?---are constrained by the form---unless
like TRP they sorta use it but explode it for unique reasons----from even being able to present some themes, the deepest vision
perhaps that the greatest do by spilling over.......
 
Leonard might be like a Balzac of sociopaths but a Balzac today would be so 19th Century.
