socialist named Lucian Herr.......
 
Alsatian, like Durkheim, and academically superior to most---
Durkheim wasn't, btw----and marked for a brilliant intellectual career,
he stunned all by deciding that he could have the most influence in 
creating true believers by becoming a librarian at the Ecole Normale
Superior........
 
Wrote nothing that lasted but did influence many, sez Hughes...........
