What school is it that you can do a Phd on Pynchon, just out of curiousness.  What would be the angle of the paper?
I'm having a go at some Pynchon, and frankly I find Gravity's somewhat annoying.  One thing, nitpicking, the bit on amanita muscaria is Way off.  He took a swing there at mushies and didn't even come in the ball park..
Oh and here is something that I know will be deep overwrought gray bleak superabundant waters, I keep hearing that Pynchon has something interesting to say about paranoia...not seeing it...
