A couple of weeeks ago I came across a reference to the French sociologist Paul Chombart de Lauwe and how he mapped a student's daily movement onto a map of Paris (1952 I believe). Perhaps this is well known to the advanced students of sociology but it was news to me. I suppose it is rather unlikley that TP would have heard of it, or is it not so unlikely? Afterall TP knew was aware of behaviouralism (Pavlov, Skinner) and many other concepts and systems of thought less than commonly known at the time.
