This was debated on the list in the past but nobody had much interest
then either...

it would be sorta dramatic if he had sorta fallen apart after GR and
worked on this and abandoned it and finally got it together and
produced VL

I suppose I'm imputing my own mental instability to him and projecting

I bought it and read it a few years back.  There's some neat stuff in
it but if he doesn't want Mortality and Mercy to loom large in his
official oeuvre, and every indication is that he doesn't, then this
thing will also probably languish in obscurity

not sure why I bring it up, except I happened to be thinking about it
the last couple days - was hard pressed to remember the title, in
fact...
