He's the Sociologist of the Group of 'Em..
LIKE this....
But what saddens and sickens even more, imho, is his indoctrination IS more self-created than some....
He started on the police beat.....Ever read his good, I daresay, essay on Trollope's Way We Live Now?
His book satirizing the middle class had some good obs, again I daresay....
But his success or whatever, his Candlebrow-like immersion in other people's thoughts AND the tendencies
of his own biases................has rendered him
as dramatically out-of-touch as Morris' mini-essays show.........

Brooks got tapped, what can you say. Nobody would refuse the job who could be tapped. Brooks writes what the Times wants him so write; he's not human in the sense of free will, free mind. He's a deeply indoctrinated human who fit the bill at the right time.
He's the Sociologist of the Group of 'Em. He's about as free as the Foreign Policy Expert, who you'll recall, thought invading Iraq was Necessary and Good, and who now believes that We just didn't do it right.
