sodomize (v.) 1868; see sodomy + -ize. Related: Sodomized; sodomizing.
In Dutch slang, besodemieteren means "to deceive," and evidently is
built from the traditional notion of "corruption" in Sodom.
the use of photography, of the light, is ongoing in the Pyncher's
books. photo degradation, here, seems to be one of those pund of
Pynchon's.
Photography and Light are there in Pynchon's inflences, so essential
to Fitzgerald, to Hawthorne's book about the Pyncheon Family.
There is, in the Frederick Douglass Narrative, this one I'm looking at
has an Introduction that talks about History and Labor and starts this
talk with a quote from CLR James:
