I've no problem with the Simpsons, with high concept, with the head
fake to humanism, but the cartooning, it drags me into an Acme Factory
where toons are threatened with a vat of bubbling de-tooning acids
than catches on frame 22 and cuts to De-Kooning in a Bluebeard East
Hampton Barn hanging photographs of Andy's penis from the rafters and
charging the rich white folk too much to see gallows humor
conceptually deconstructed. But I felt no sentiment or suspense or
anything, actually, when I read this ugly cartoon lecture.
