on P not getting the Mid-West of The US

As the everything-coennetors say, it is NO ACCIDENT that in the Olde Europe
section of Against the Day, called, of course, Against the Day (that is buidling to the War
that kills)....
 
some oof those villages are compared to Mid--West cities...
 
And, along more obvious satirizations as well, I think the Chicago where AtD starts is
the Mid--West, yes?, and I remember some slamming of Columbus, Ohio and 
 
if a picnic is not more Mid--West than bi-coastal, I'll bring y'all more potato salad, my special 
recipe---which really is a potato--beet salad---and we can trade more recipes just like that
fine, fine scene in AtD that seems NOT to be satire......
