Dempster? I love him, I don't care for whom he's pitching. Pettitte? He's okay, too.  But the Dominicans are fascinating. Today I met an American: Joissim- 1/2 Dominican, 1/2 Haitian. That line that divides the Island is easily as arbitrary as anything M&D laid down- and what a world of difference,
futbol v. baseball. There must be a something worth exploring in the history of that division. Joissim, like his Haitian father, is a preacher. He sells real estate on the side. 

If Boston gets to the series, I'll root for them.

The Yankees DL has a higher salary than most entire teams. Tonight's starter resides in an assisted living facility. Having ol' Purple Lips Rodriguez out of action might not be so bad. Just ask the folks in Arlington Texas about addition by subtraction.
