Reading BURR I can appreciate why Vidal might have been a tad bitter about
the outcome of the 1974 Pulitzer process and dismissive in his take on
GR....BURR is a remarkable work which, had it been nominated in any other
year, would have been a prohibitive favorite for top honors.
