There's 15 minutes of innocent fun just tallying the categories of
magazines -- detective, SF, Western, comix, adventure, romance -- in this
photo. As we've noted before, especially w/r/t Against the Day, they form a
significant substrate of the pop memes and narratives to be absorbed by
that geeky Long Island kid in the 1940s.
