Did you really just jump from the inevitable (we hope) requirement for some
FUNK! in our  hot/cess/loch-ness pool to an artist's lack of power to make
a living?  I agree with the premise that artists are Fuct in general in
this society. But the leap from reproduction and info control to biological
reproduction eludes me. Sock me some funky sox, to me!
