special topics in calamity physics?

I read it back in 2006 when it first came out so I forgot.    It was okay - pretty funny in it's own way, imaginative,  if I remember correctly.   It has a young feel to it.   I really can't remember much about it.  I see by my copy there is no marginalia,  no underlinings -  this is not a good sign.
