yep, the cover is very very good. Russian publishers weren't that brave,
they only stuck a rocket between supergirl's thighs ))
as for the tormenting ourselves, there's really some point in this, for
this is a never-ending quest of fixing something in the translation
text. it's a process, not a result per se. we're doomed ))
an older acquaintance of mine, the Russian translator of Ulysses, has
been doing this, I don't know, for the last 30 years or so. a-and there
are always those adorable readers who just love the game of "pick a word
and kick the translator for using it." we're having it here now on a
*slightly* less scale than I had several years ago for re-translating
J.D. Salinger
