GR translation: Seaman Bodine

Seaman is one of the lowest rates  in the Navy (not rank).   It's not a name but used as a title.   Petty Officer Jones or Seaman Bodine.    In the army it might be like  Private Ryan or Sergeant Preston,

whose dad and son and  late hubby were all seamen of some sort -
