Well, I'm trying. Which I guess is why I'm still here. But the attacks 
on science feel pretty personal, and they sting. I don't think I could 
get away with talking about how, say, black folks are ignorant and 
violent. But completely unfounded stereotypes about "scientists" seem to 
be fair game.

I guess (just to get a little bit more serious) it's similar to how 
discrimination against Jews for college admission was commonplace and 
accepted in the mid twentieth century. Or against Asians is accepted 
now. I'm not even sure I want to "go here". But i think everyone would 
do a little better to speak and write with some more compassion and 
without a need to cast all blame on some Other.
