Pynchon Virgins

I admire GR and V for their deep and complex structure more than the crazy
energetic pace.  Both were experimentally groundbreaking, but GR is such a
tightly woven and complex mesh.  When one digs deeper into GR, it delivers
more and more levels of detailed and multitudinous connections with its own
self and with history, psychology, occult systems, etc.  And I think the
writing is beautiful, a joy in itself.  His later works contain bits of all
these attributes, but I see only a shadow of his former prowess in them.

Only MD might be exempt from this criticism of mine.  MD might be in GR's
league.
