Well it's literally dark, in that it doesn't emit radiation.

The 15% does emit radiation, so it is "light". I always hate pseudo
profundities of this form.

Btw there's murmurs from some corners (and I neither endorse nor represent
such views) that dark matter isn't really matter, just a failure of certain
cosmological theories at extreme distance scales. Think about the world
of a tiny spider; his experience of the laws of physics is much different
from yours - he can walk on water! The idea is that at intergalactic scales
some unknown laws of physics dominate. Personally I don't buy it, but you
can't deny its beauty.
