BEER Group Read. What's in a Name?

But what about the Gabriel part?  Gabriel was an archangel of God -  (this messed with me every time I read that name). 

It means "God is my strength."   ??? -  Did someone famous have that name and so the allusion is from that?  Or is Gabriel assuming God-like characteristics?
