Ernest Mandel is a Marxist (if he is still alive) who wrote early on Late Cpaitalism. Free pdf is below but,
I browsed the beginning of it, was hit with one serendipitous bit of verbal coincidence re BE or more than that. 

But here is some summary of Mandel's econ points as they might matter to BE. late Capitalism marked by

1) Arms Production
2) 'development of capitalist technology and the valorization of capital itself"

He goes on to say his chapters will deal with 9 features. Of which he labels the first--page 9 below---
POINT OF DEPARTURE....DeepArcher..????  this is the serendipitous find I can not believe in. 

(Yet. finding such stuff early in some works which seem to have influenced TRP happens more than Maxine's
Random Stats measure in my subjective experience. As if he picks up bits of what he reads and puts them
down like signs road-changed) 

Anyway, Mandel writes of the radical improvement in the conditions for valorizing capital.
----resulted from the historic defeats of the working class by fascism and war.
----the 3rd Technological Revolution  = the acceleration of technological innovation...(in which rents provide
most of the surplus profit to sustain the System) 
----full world market

All fits into the BE plot, yes?
