Inherent Vice, the movie

Premieres at th NY Film Festival October 4th, opens in limited release
(meaning, usually, @ least NY + LA, I'm hoping at least Chicago as well)
December 12th, all it has to do is screen once each in NY and LA before the
end of the year, and it's eligible, which it most certainly will be. I
suspect at least a nomination for best adapted screenplay (whuch I think
we're all hoping it deserves), but not necessarily much if anything else.

But I am hopeful it'll be a respectable, enjoyable, even, adaptation. My
current condition will likely (just) preclude me from making even an
attempt on the NYFF, but if it doesn't show up here in December, I'll
hopefully be able to make the trek to Chicago, though I wouldn't be
surprised if resourceful friends don't cough up at least the screenplay if
not the film soon enough. But I'll see it on the big screen no matter what.

Award nomination possibilities for 2015 Awards and no one goes to the
movies in January ( except for the new week's blockbuster and the 2014
arty ones with praise, buzz, therefore legs)
