Jumping on the Pynchon bandwagon ...

The marketing line, "jumping on the Pynchon Bandwagon", is a poor effort at
self-deprecating irony. Common enough in the academy these days where the
anti-modern / anti-moral crowd once claimed immunity but ended up sharing a
grave with the dead white males, not to mention the ideas of modernism,
some of them Victorians, they feasted on. But you are correct, we have to
admire the flip flop author, who keeps flipping and flopping like a McLuhan
Circuit, even as the author's current books and currency sprays sparks from
the Key to Gravity's Rainbow dangling by a tangle of lines signifying
something Ben Franklin can't quite make out.

Weisenburger has managed to write three of the most useful books on
Pynchon, the first two contradict each, though not entirely, but this new
one seems to be a complete and perfect flip to the other side of his effort
on postmodern satire.

TV was a Flip. The Internet a Flop. As Bob Dylan always sez, "What else can
ya show me?"
