Ruth Ozeki beats Thomas Pynchon to top Kitschie award

When I read the nominees for this prize earlier in the year I
earmarked it as one to watch. "Progressive" and "entertaining"
speculative fiction. Nice. And I had enjoyed both Bleeding Edge and
Ozeki's book and slap 'em on a shortlist with Anne Carson and I'm in.
