What next?

First time reading GR. mostly what I got from it was the pitch perfect
sound of WWII, which, rather unexpectedly, I had missed without realizing
it.  And he had had to do it mostly from research, being just a kid while
it was all going on. A kid with a very observant ear, possibly.  I can't
put it too strongly, how stunned I was over the brilliance. Most of the
"deep" stuff I didn't get. Had to wait for Weisenberger's marvelous little
handbook to come out some years latter.
