What Do You Want from Fiction?

I want to meet interesting people, that I like, and see how their lives 
turn out.
I want to go to interesting places, whether they exist or not, and see 
what they are like.
I want to see history from a vantage point that non-fiction cannot provide
I want a view of the world that I live in that is half a bubble off 
center, and makes me reconsider things.
And I want it in couple of weeks.
