name' is to be that 'free individual' that is one of the foundational
myths of the United states? (as long as you weren't owned as a slave,
nor were a woman, of course).

Becker tells me that there was a phrase excoriating slavery that
Jefferson wanted into the Constitution but it was voted out (for
political reasons. T make it easier to get the Document ratified).
Jefferson the slaveholder.
