I took 'mumbly' as characterological and had to accept it. One had to
miss some lines akin
to the way one has to in an Altman movie when he has multiple voices happening.
No, just younger for me. Doc is. Phoenix is simply middle-age fuller
(in face and body) to me.
Although, text-based or not--can't remember and ain't looking it
up---I do see him looking more
like Owen Wilson, esp blond, open face so maybe I agree with you.
