This was the only book in the last several years I has difficulty finishing because I couldn't stand it. Seemed like a lame attempt at aping DFW dialogue/scenes and shoehorning capital P postmodern Themes into a dull and ineffectual narrative. Whatever strength it carried in its legal bits completely undone by disingenuous symbolisms. Bloated, trite and sloppy, Wood's whole hysterical realism thing at its worst
