M&D.8 "when the World was yet feudal (that is, Preindustrial)

Feudal describes land ownership and workers; Wicks describes the
"Country", the "Wilderness", the "Proprietorships" granted, and in the
same sentence uses the adjective "feudal' to describe the World and
denote a postindustrial one, one where the lands were granted to
landlords and where the workers, even those who used Enlightenment
technology and science,  worked in a feudal economy. As noted
previously, the Economy of British America and America to 1800
exploded with growth and size but its basic structure remained feudal
or postindustrial.
