The FOP (Friends of Pynchon) know one another by curiously wrought fobs,
cufflinks, tie clasps, ear rings, bill clasps, et cetera of nickel and
Iceland Spar. Each FOP chooses his or her own design. The items are all
dull enough to go un-noticed, but the ones that have been made up at
Harrods are exquisite. And ther's the Secret Handshake....
