This was another guess of mine (having seen the film five times now, +
likely a sixth tomorrow, w/ a seventh over the weekend/in the coming week),
thinking, maybe they hid him amongs the hooded actors @ first, but which i
again wrote off not only for being too visible, but for being included in
the NY Times (I think I even initially posted this article to the list).

Freeze-framing it and comparing it w/ extant (or, @ any rate, available)
photos of Pynchon, as well as

, I'm still not convinced, esp. given the arch of that eyebrow (his other
one, on the other hand ...).  I still think the chin is wrong, and, here,
the hairline.

But if anyone can prove anything (I certainly can't) ...
