On this day in *1879*, during Anglo-Zulu War, two major battles take place.
First, the Battle of Isandlwana, in which Zulu troops decisively defeat
British troops. In the Battle of Rorke's Drift, however, 139 British
soldiers successfully defend their garrison against an onslaught by three
to four thousand Zulu warriors.
