Yes, and yes.
I suspect that at least partly political partisanship is to blame for
the indeed staggering blindness of many liberal/progressive Americans
when it comes to Ukraine/Russia.
This does not pertain to the NYT, however. The paper is a mouthpiece for
war propaganda from *both* Democrats and Republicans (with the
occasional fig leaf buried on page 6127, of course).
