Why is Germany so angry?

Jacob Soll asks this question and then responds to it in the article.
However, I think he might consider the degree to which the
sensationalist Bild, readership of 12 million or so, in Germany has
shaped the public view on Greece. (Think CNN and the first Gulf war.)
Of course Soll is an economic historian so the media/ communication
studies angle is not his area. There are alredy some studies and
articles on the issue, worth a look.

Of course any criticism of Bild or Merkel and her team should not be
seen as an attack on the German people. Having friends and family in
Germany, you'll never catch me calling Schäuble a Nazi.

Here's to hoping for a sane and decent solution to this mess that the
geniuses have created.
