Satin Island was disappointing. title of article apt for how I felt about
the book. he can write and the ideas pop off well initially but it all
bleeds out with a whimper.

the novel I just finished Brief History of Seven Killings about
political/gang violence in Jamaica though a bit overlong was passionate,
disturbing, surreal and well worth the read
