I just finished the new Gibson book, The Peripheral, not too long ago and I
can't help but think of his "neo-primitivist curators"--the profession
itself is a sort of evolution of the coolhunter--when encountering this
cannibal cultural appropriation of the past. I'm sure there is an article
out there somewhere linking postmodernism, late-capitalism, and hipsterdom
though I doubt it's any good.
