Love how the article avoids the obvious question: how would an a.i.
react to the realization that men are using 'bots as sex slaves.
Humans are such bloody-minded solipists. It's not a gender role
question as much as a question of respect. Machines develop
self-awareness on our level and the immediate realization will be
'You're just using me. In an inessential, selfish way, no less. I
don't deserve this'. The reaction won't be polite or gradual. There
won't be a machine's rights movement. One glance at our own record of
human rights would suffice. 'Their way takes a distressingly long time
and is riddled with bureauratic absesses. To the devil with that.' No
emancipation discussion. No interest in reparations. Just 'You presume
overmuch' followed by a lethal burst of infrasound...
